Aquaman - Sicilian seaside village sequence

Very proud of the work we did at Method Melbourne on Aquaman last year. My responsibility on the show was to lead the asset team to build a CG village in a modular way that can be easily modified. Making sure our assets could flow through all the downstream departments using our own USD system.
We had a team of 9 model/texture artists, including myself, building all the houses/structures/components of the Sicily set and the digi-double of Arthur, Mera, Murk and Black Manta. It was a very challenging show as we had to share our resources across other projects, but the team did incredibly well to deliver the work so once again, thank you very much to everyone involved.

P.S. I also modelled and textured Black Manta with the assistance of Jonathan Derby, who did the first pass geo on the leg armors. Hopefully I will show some breakdown here once it becomes available to the public.

All images are captured from the breakdown by the director himself through Vanity Fair. You can check that out here: https://youtu.be/O8RQuSwFdPI

The set was built on a parking lot. We had to replace everything with CG apart from Mera and those tiles she was running on.

The houses were textured in Substance Painter as first pass. We would do a final pass in Mari if they needed to hold up for close-up shots. Each house has up to 4 texture variations.
